On this website I am sharing some of the work of done in my forty years of​​ ministry as a Lutheran Pastor. I am just beginning this site, and I am gradually adding resources. I hope you find it helpful.

I am part of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and a graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (Mdiv 1980; STM 1998). I love these four aspects of ministry: Preaching, Teaching, Visiting, and Administration. 

​

My wife, Carol, and I have been blessed with five children and five grandchildren. ​As far back as I can remember I have believed in Jesus, and I am thankful I was brought to Him early in life. However, one of my earliest memories is

the realization that I am both a saint and sinner. Sometimes I was the little boy who eagerly answered the questions in
Sunday School, and sometimes I was the little trouble maker. Yet, throughout my life I have experienced the

strong and steady pull of God toward Him and His holiness.

These are some of the experiences that have shaped my life:

* Daily Family Devotions and every Sunday worship and Sunday school. 

* Piano lessons from my mom, guitar and banjo on my own

* Parochial School from kindergarten to sixth grade (Saginaw, Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana)

* Public School from seventh grade to high school (Charleston and Vandalia, Illinois)

* Work as a paperboy, farm worker, busboy, lumberyard worker, and airport line boy

* Private Pilot when I was a senior in high school

* Chemistry major in college (Eastern Illinois University, University of Illinois, and Greenville College, Illinois)

* Reservist in the United States Marine Corps during college and seminary (St. Louis 3/24)

* Learning to love the Biblical languages at the feet of Professors Jim Reinhard (Greenville College), Andy Bartelt, Louis Brighton & Horace Hummel (Concordia Seminary)

* Learning how to connect with people and take a bold stand for the faith on my vicarage with Pastor David Meyer at Berlin, Wisconsin

* Getting to know the great people of Nebraska at St. John Lutheran Church, Beemer and Campus Lutheran, Kearney.

* Learning how to be a good shepherd from Pastor Dennis Kastens and working with wonderful people at Good Shepherd, Collinsville, Illinois

* Serving in a congregation that has a lot of history and wonderful people at Immanuel, Mt. Olive, Illinois.
